Let the outside in to your home

Adding a conservatory or orangery to your property will add a new dimension to your home and your lifestyle. It can create extra space, provide an additional reception room or an extension to your garden. Our conservatories benefit from all the built-in strengths of our high specification window and door systems, including performance and variety of choice, plus the all-important addition of a top quality roofing system such as Ultraframe Quantal or K2.

There is a style of conservatory to suit every type of property and purpose. Now available in a choice of colours, this virtually maintenance-free environment will provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind and enjoy your garden.

Popular conservatory styles

Popular styles of conservatory include those detailed below, or you can create your own unique bespoke design.

Lean-To: The simplest design with a single sloped roof. Useful style for fitting into a corner.

Edwardian: A ridged roof combined with a rectangular base gives greater use of space than the Victorian.

Victorian: This has a ridged roof and a multi faceted end wall that creates a rounded effect.

P-Shaped: A popular larger style, can also be translated into a T shape or L shape.

Bespoke: If your budget caters for it, you can combine styles and create a truly individual design.

The latest in smart glass technology

Major technical advances in glass manufacture now mean that you can combine the benefits of self-cleaning glass with solar control performance, the perfect choice for places that are difficult to clean and which also require solar control, such as conservatory roofs.

Pilkington Activ™ is the world’s first self-cleaning glass. With its unique permanent dual action coating it works in two ways: first using daylight to break down organic deposits (such as dirt) and then using rain to wash the dirt away. Pilkington Activ™ also dries faster, leaving the glass clean

and with less streaks, making it the perfect solution for conservatory roofs, orangeries, glass extensions and roof lights. Download the Pilkington Activ PDF brochure >>

What's involved

Ruislip Windows will personally oversee every stage involved in the creation of your beautiful new conservatory. From any initial planning through to the building work, electrics and plumbing, we take care of it all so you don't have to worry.

  • Site survey: We will visit your home and discuss the various options, styles and design of conservatory that would be suitable for your property.
  • Planning: If you've already extended your property there's a chance you may need to obtain planning permission for your conservatory. If this is the case, we can work with our designated architect and your local planning department to make the process as simple and straightforward as possible.
  • Installing the conservatory: Ruislip Windows will begin work on the footings and groundworks and building the base and the walls of your new conservatory. Once complete, we can begin installing the windows, doors and the roofing system. We then work with our electricians and plumbers to install the electrics and central heating.
  • Finishing touches: Plastering, laying the new floor and decorating - your beautiful new conservatory is now ready for you to enjoy.

A solid structure more like an extension to the home with lots of windows and a solid roof with a roof lantern. Very popular as kitchen diner extensions with bifold doors to open up the whole room to the garden.

Full glass roof and walls, often with dwarf wall brickwork..

Installed on a new build extension, an orangery, or simply inserted into a flat roof, a roof lantern will add the feeling of space and natural light to your home. It's the ideal solution to provide natural light into the room below and can be easily achieved on an existing flat roof. Popular as features in kitchen diner extentions, lanterns can take many different forms from simple low pyramids to elegant octagons or larger hipped style roofs. Now you can achieve the added wow factor by choosing  sleek contemporary colours such as anthracite or black to match with the latest bifold doors or even classic white to blend seamlessly with your windows. Whether it’s for a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom or bathroom a roof lantern could be the perfect stylish solution for you.

Re-invent your conservatory with a new solid roof

For many people it’s the same issue, they love their conservatory but it’s either too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter or too noisy when it rains, particularly if you have an older polycarbonate roof. Most of the issues are down to one single element - the roof. So by replacing the existing roof with a stylish Guardian tiled roof you don’t just improve the appearance, you now have a fully insulated soundproofed roof that is exactly what you always wanted.

The Guardian conservatory roof comes with a whole range of benefits and options to choose from to create the perfect living space.

A key aspect is the enhanced thermal qualities enjoyed with a conservatory roof replacement: As a fully insulated roof, the Guardian Warm Roof will convert your conservatory into an ambient, much-needed space that can be used daily, all year round: Nice and cool during the summer months and cosy and warm throughout the winter

By removing your old conservatory roof and replacing it with a new insulated tiled roof, you’ll completely change the appearance of the rear of your home and garden. Now your conservatory will more closely resemble a proper extension and by choosing tiles that match your house you’ll be getting all the benefits of a ground floor extension along with the convenience and style of a conservatory. For a contemporary and stylish finish, add one or two rooflights for that extra wow factor.

Fully tested and approved to all thermal and structural standards, the Guardian Warm Roof is a high performance insulated roof system comprising of a pre-engineered lightweight frame, two layers of rigid insulation board, internal insulated plasterboard, exterior grade plywood and a vapour membrane. Altogether this creates a thermally efficient living space; keeping the warm air out in the summer and preventing the heat from escaping in the winter thus saving the amount of heat energy required to keep the room at an ambient temperature.

  • The solid roof will help you to maintain a consistant interior temperature.
  • Your room will be quiet and comfortable all year round.
  • Your new room can now be fully intergrated into your ground floor living area.
  • It will give you the extra space you've always wanted.
