FENSA AND CERTASS

Competant Person Schemes

FENSA and CERTASS are government-authorised schemes that monitor building regulation compliance for replacement windows and doors. Every Approved Installer, from large national brands to small local companies, such as ourselves, is assessed regularly by these schemes to ensure that our installation standards are continually maintained and comply with the current building regulations. We have been founder members of FENSA since 2002.

Membership of schemes such as FENSA and CERTASS requires that an installer must be able to provide their customers with:

  • Protection of any deposit taken
  • A guarantee covering the completed installation
  • An insurance policy to cover this guarantee should the contractor cease trading
  • Suitably qualified and assessed site operatives

Ruislip Windows' FENSA registration number is 15058 and our CERTASS registration number is TRR14010.

Once your installation is complete we will register it with either FENSA or CERTASS - we do this on your behalf. You will then receive your certification direct from either FENSA or CERTASS. Keep this in a safe place as you will need to produce it if you ever sell your home.

Your certification certificate demonstrates the following:

  • Confirms compliance with building regulations
  • Shows your installation is energy efficient
  • Ensures it’s registered with the Local Council
  • Verifies your installer’s guarantee is insured
  • Essential when selling the property
  • Proof of a job done right

Both FENSA and CERTASS carry out random inspections on a percentage of an installer's work to ensure that the installation has been carried out in accordance with required standards.
